What strikes me about the Clinton strategy - despite its ever-changing nature - is the fact that it is all about the here-and-now. She needs to last this fight so she can live to fight another day. And to last this fight, she'll do anything. Including forsake core constituencies under the assumption that she can either win them back or they'll grudgingly vote for her with nowhere else to turn. This is all about survival. Except she doesn't know she's already done. I think she is saying exactly that – fuck the eggheads and the African Americans.
