Item #1: Five Colleges in Six Years

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin attended five colleges in six years before graduating from the University of Idaho in 1987.

Snip

She began college at Hawaii Pacific University, a private, nonsectarian school in Honolulu. She attended only as a freshman during the fall of 1982, school spokeswoman Crystale Lopez said.

Then known as Sarah Louise Heath, she was in the business administration program as a full-time student, Lopez said.

“We’re trying to track down someone who knew her,” Lopez added.

From Hawaii Pacific, Palin transferred to North Idaho College, a two-year school in Coeur d’Alene, about 30 miles east of Spokane. She attended the college as a general studies major for two semesters, in spring 1983 and fall 1983, spokeswoman Stacy Hudson said.

“We were not able to track down club affiliations or anything,” Hudson said.

The school identified one of her professors but he did not remember her, Hudson said.

Prior to her selection by McCain, the North Idaho College Alumni Association notified Palin in June she would be the recipient of its 2008-2009 Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award.

From North Idaho College, Palin transferred 70 miles south to the University of Idaho, the state’s flagship institution. She majored in journalism with an emphasis in broadcast news. She attended Idaho, whose mascot is the Vandals, from fall 1984 to spring 1985.

She then returned to Alaska to attend Matanuska-Susitna College in Palmer in fall 1985.

Then she returned to Idaho, for spring 1986, fall 1986 and spring 1987, when she graduated. Despite her journalism degree, she does not appear to have worked for the college newspaper or campus television station, school officials said. She worked briefly as a sportscaster for KTUU in Anchorage after she graduated college.

The McCain campaign did not have an immediate comment on Palin’s higher education record.

Sounds about right, given what we know about Sarah.

Item #2: Palin Stretches Truth at GOP Convention

PALIN: “I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending … and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress ‘thanks but no thanks’ for that Bridge to Nowhere.”

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a “bridge to nowhere.”

She was against the “bridge to nowhere” before she was against it.

Item #3: Palin Claims that Dems have Attacked Her Family

A fundraising letter that Sarah Palin’s camp sent out Thursday afternoon tells potential donors, “Unfortunately, as you’ve seen this week, the Obama/Biden Democrats have been vicious in their attacks directed toward me, my family and John McCain. The misinformation and flat-out lies must be corrected.”

The point, of course, is that the McCain/Palin campaign needs money to help defend against these awful “Obama/Biden Democrats.”

That is, if they exist at all.

Snip

Actually, as (Jake) Tapper notes, there are some politicians who have personally attacked opponents’ family members. For instance, in 1998, it was John McCain who joked, “Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.”

It’s hard to imagine that a Republican would ever attack the family of a candidate.

Geez.

  1. Well done, who’s the name above? Geez only ?
Palin is so beautiful that everybody forgets everything except her attractiveness, I mean men/women forget to delve into her character and her background of her words , or maybe the info’s is still too few and too small in its reach to the audiences? So nobody hears this and that about Palin’s bad sides, except avid readers like us.
It seems Palin is less honest in her words compared with Hillary, so she is one of those executives (now politician -to-be) who use the paradigm :
” The purpose (of someone’s actions) will legalize the methods (used in attaining the purpose)”.
If she wants to win and make Obama’s polls plummeting, every lies will be OK.
Biden and Obama prohibited Palin’s family to be attacked, but she say tens lies and some truths to attack Obama and then said she has been attacked viciously by Obama, just like we said in Indonesian: “The thief shrieks “Thief” against others” (Maling teriak maling).
    om santi, Indonesia
